Recognition
Your IPSHK membership is a well recognised status as a professional practitioner in purchasing and supply. You are entitled to
use the designations of “FIPSHK”, “MIPSHK” and “AIPSHK” (depending on your membership grade) in your personal identifications.

You are able to network with other purchasing and supply professional practitioners of different fields and industries as well
as to meet both local and overseas purchasing and supply practitioners and educators.
Information
You can attend informative seminars, conferences, company visits and study tours which are organised by IPSHK to disseminate the
field-proven practices in purchasing and supply.
You can seek advices from the purchasing and supply experts during the seminars, training and education programmes regularly
offered by IPSHK.
You can build up network and share best purchasing and supply practices with other members of IPSHK which are over 1,000 in
numbers.
You can receive periodically electronic newsletters with information on the prevalent purchasing and supply practices from
IPSHK.
Privileges
You can attend IPSHK activities including seminars, conferences, company visits and study tours free of charge or at very
special rates.
(a) Consideration will be given by the Institute for the award of Fellowship to those Members who have, in time, deed and
profession, contributed immensely and significantly to purchasing/supply/logistics management and extended distinguished
services to further the aims, objectives and interests of the Institute and her members.
(b) Application for Fellowship shall be made to the Hon. Secretary in writing.
(c) Criteria for election:
The Council shall satisfy themselves that the applicant to be elected as Fellow:
(i) must be a Member of the Institute; and
(ii) has distinguished himself in services to the Institute and/or to the purchasing/supply/logistics management
profession over
a prolonged period of time.
(d) Award of Fellowship must be approved and endorsed by the Council in special sittings.
(e) Fellow is entitled to use the appellation FIPSHK.
(f) Fellow is entitled to have one vote at all General Meetings.
(a) Initially, Membership of the Institute was extended to those who attended the inaugural meeting of the Institute held on
15th December, 1972 and those who indicated they were unable to attend the meeting but wished to be informed of the progress.
(b) Application for Membership shall be made to the Hon. Secretary in writing.
(c) Criteria for election:
The Council shall satisfy themselves that the applicant to be elected as Member:
(i) has possessed an academic qualification in purchasing/supply/logistics or related disciplines at degree
level, or its
equivalent;
(ii) has had a minimum of two years of working experience in purchasing and supply or related field; and
(iii) is a fit and proper person to become a Member of the Institute both in respect of his own character and in
respect of the
duties he performs, and shall furnish the Council with such particulars as they may require with regard to the nature of his
duties and of the organisations which he serves and has served.
(d) Member is entitled to use the appellation MIPSHK.
(e) Member is entitled to have one vote at all General Meetings.
(a) Application for Associate Membership shall be made in writing to the Hon. Secretary.
(b) Criteria for election:
(c) The Council shall satisfy themselves that the applicant to be elected as Associate Member:
(i) has possessed an academic qualification in purchasing/ supply/logistics or related disciplines at associate
degree level or
above, or its equivalent;
(ii) is engaged in the profession of purchasing/supply/logistics or related field at least one year of working
experience; and
(iii) is a fit and proper person to become an Associate Member of the Institute both in respect of his own
character and in
respect of the duties he performs, and shall furnish the Council with such particulars as may be required with regard to the
nature of his duties and of the organisations which he serves and has served.
(d) Associate Member is entitled to use the appellation AIPSHK.
(e) Associate Member is a non-voting member.
(a) Affiliates of the Institute are those persons who wish to be associated with the Institute’s activities.
(b) Application for Affiliateship with the Institute shall be made in writing to the Hon. Secretary.
(c) Affiliate is a non-voting member.
(a) Students of the Institute are those persons who are enrolled on courses related to approved professional examination schemes
of the Institute.
(b) Application for Student membership should be made in writing to the Hon. Secretary.
(c) Student is a non-voting member.
(a) Application for Corporate Membership should be made in writing by the appropriate authority to the Hon. Secretary.
(b) Criteria for Election:
Any organisation, enterprise, company or institution, statutory or business orientated, whose
policies and operations involve directly or indirectly in the discipline of purchasing/supply/logistics shall be eligible for
election and admission as a Corporate Member.
(c) A Corporate Member is entitled to elect two (2) nominees/representatives/delegates to all sittings and activities so
planned, programmed or organised by and in the name of the Institute and shall be accorded full rights and entitlements as
Associate Members accordingly.
(d) Corporate Member is a non-voting member.
A "Fellow Member" or "Full Member" or "Honorary Fellow" or "Associate Member" is entitled to use "FIPSHK" or "MIPSHK" or "FIPSHK(Hon.)" or "AIPSHK" as appropriate after his/her name. These titles are serving as a proof of high level of professional achievement and practical relevant experience.
