IPSHK 36th Anniversary Symposium on "Green Purchasing - policies, trends, myths and view from a supplier's perspective" cum Annual General Meeting on 23 May 2009

Dear Members,

On 23 May 2009 Saturday afternoon, under the heavy rain, some 70 audiences got together at the lecturing theatre of the School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE) in City University campus hoping to get more information about Green Purchasing and its impacts to the industry and the community. The turn-out rate was encouraging and showed that the topic was welcome by the Members.

We had three experts delivering related messages from different perspectives. Ms Linda Ho, CEO of Green Council, gave us the overview of green purchasing that followed by Professor Chung Shan Shan of Hong Kong Baptist University who helped us to understand many "green products" were actually fake. We then had Ms Katherine Lau of Fuji Xerox demonstrating what the green supply chain should look like.

The seminar was concluded by our President, Dr. Stephen Ng. It was an informative seminar that enjoyed by both the audiences and speakers.

Right after the symposium, a ceremony of presenting the shcholarship to the best performed students of the program supported by IPSHK, Professional Diploma in Merchandising Management (PDMM), of IVE Shatin was hosted by our Chairman Timothy Lam.

The symposium was successful and we like to thank our members for their participation. The related photos were uploaded to our website for sharing.

See you next time

With best regards,
